Since Essure hit the market, the FDA has received 1000’s of formal complaints, Medical Device Reports, and adverse side effect reports from women with Essure Problems. The most frequently reported Essure Side Effects and Essure Medical Complications include: General Pain & Soreness, Stomach Pain, Sever Stomach Bloating (E-Belly), Heavy Menstrual Bleeding, Uncontrollable Menstrual Bleeding, Irregular Menstrual Cycles, Headaches & Migraines, Weight Fluctuations, Weigh Gain, and Fatigue.

Why Do I Feel This Way?
Many Essure side effects are likely associated with the biomechanical effects of the device, which can vary with every patient. Additionally, some women experience Essure side effects due to the insertion of a foreign that is unnatural to the body. The Fallopian tubes are sensitive, and complications can arise from insertion of any foreign device. Some patients may experience a tubal spasm when the doctor is attempting to insert the Essure coil. Even if successfully inserted, tubal spasms can expel the Essure device or draw the Essure device further into the tube than intended. If the Essure device does remain in the Fallopian tube, a patient can experience severe pain as the body attempts to expel the device with tubal spasms.
The actual design and intention of the Essure device is to lodge itself in the Fallopian tubes by encouraging scar tissue to grow in and around it, blocking off the Fallopian tubes completely. The scar tissue growth is encouraged by the existence of PET fibers in the Essure coil itself, which causes allergic reactions and autoimmune complications in many women. Many of these allergic reactions and complications are due to the existence of heavy metals and Nickel within the device. It is estimated that as many as 1 out of 5 women may be Allergic to Nickel, and many of the skin tests for Nickel allergies can be unreliable. If the patient experiences an allergic reaction to Essure device itself, a patient can experience an itchy rash or even an arrhythmia. Many patient symptoms and side effects can by secondary effects and reactions to the device itself.
